Can you all really relate to the North-South thing in India or do you find it fully foreign?
So in India there has been a lot of talks about North India and South India. I am a Bengali person from Siliguri in West Bengal which is in Eastern India but living in the city Bangalore which is a major metropolitan city in South India. But there has been some talks like the local Bangalore people who are Kannadigas are saying too many Northies(they call North Indians as Northies) in Bangalore now destroying the culture of the city. Most of North Indians are Hindi speaking and many locals here complain they aren't learning the local language. Similarly the locals of Tamil Nadu, another South Indian state calls North Indians the slang word "vadakan" which means Northerners. They too say how these North Indians lack civic sense and are spoiling the culture. I am an East Indian tho as a Bengali but it is definitely possible that some South Indians here might lump me into North Indians too as I speak Hindi and English with the locals here instead of their local language Kannada. A lot of South Indians except the very urban ones are usually traditional and often had gender segregation thats why many Tamil guys like Bala(I posted about him in previous post) are awkward near women and can't talk to them despite being 23 and freshly done with an MBA but I as a Bengali guy had shyness before due to facing too much bullying but I overcame it last year and now at 24 can easily talk to any woman(Indian or foreign). Can you relate to these tho?
