How do you cope with the fact that life is pain and existence is futile?

Listening to bangers and bops on a bench in a forest or otherwise secluded spot. Maybe a nice cold beer :)

Do what you can to make it less painful. Existence isn't futile at all. It's all just an experience really, and experience is meaning, itself.

@BlueVeins But what does it matter in 1000 years when no one remembers our names and struggles?
Not that I disagree with you, I think just living your best life is peak existence, but in the end it's futile.

@GermanAf I don't think things really have to last forever, but the lives we lived will have an impact on future generations. If the printing press hadn't been invented in 1440, we would probably not have the advanced, relatively cushy society we have today, not on the same timescale anyway. And the printing press was made possible not only by the man who fashioned it together, but by the millions of nameless, faceless workers who kept society running at such a level as to cultivate innovation in the first place. Even just the tax revenue you generate goes towards scientific research that will stay relevant for... well, forever, potentially. There is honor in being a small part of something big.

Is there honor in a cancer cell? And what good is scientific advancement if it's just used for destruction?
Remember Boston Dynamics and their posturing around military use for their robots? Now their just openly demoing their missile carrying exoskeleton lol
Not really relevant to me because Germany refuses to participate in big tech locally, but you get the idea.

@GermanAf Fair point! I tend to see technological advancement as a net positive for humanity but there's nothing to say it'll stay that way in the future.

@BlueVeins and the future scares me :(
Sorry for the negative vibes but I needed to let out the lil edgelord today :P

I believe in the future of science, let's get us some stable fusion and quantum internet!

@GermanAf Maybe a microverse battery too 😂😂

@BlueVeins well that just sounds like slavery with extra steps
