Maybe consider the other other side of the coin.... it might lessen the anxiety.

I put off, or more honestly stated, ignored getting recommended cancer screenings until about 5 years ago when being treated for a totally unrelated minor health issue, was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer.

The next three years of my life were, let's just say, not fun. In and out of the hospital time and time again, chemo and radiation treatments and three major surgeries, and on and on.... not to mention going sepsis (nearly ended me), chem destroying one kidney and two long rehab periods.

For years I avoided all the anxiety. Until I didn't, and then it all hit me like a ton of bricks... friggin' cancer!

I get it, the anxiety (over what it) and treatments are wearing and can get to you. What I would say, is consider the other side of the coin... actually getting cancer.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I have my first one coming up and it’ll be a thing. I’ve had a lump since I was a teen and I just know they’ll want to do a procedure given my recent stint with cancer. They’re not going to like my refusal, but I’m not going through surgery anytime soon for something I know is just a part of me.

I love my doctors, I do. But at the same time, I’m tired of the overreaction to every little thing that has caused me so much anxiety lately. I need to be allowed to just breathe for five seconds without someone leading me to believe I’m going to die tomorrow if I don’t do something today.

I lost my mom and grandmother to breast cancer , almost lost my sister to a different one. I carry a gene that makes my risk of several cancers a lot higher than most. I have to get several different screenings , some yearly, some every three years. I panic every time

Lumps in both breasts. I'm not going to panic, I've been through this before and had a lumpectomy and they were benign.

Maybe they can just chop these lumpy old bags off and be done with it.

I will say this. I’m glad they don’t test for testicular cancer in the same way they do a mammogram. I’m also not fond of prostate exams either. There’s a time and place for fingers in the bum.
