Today was a horribly dry outing. Why the hell can't Indian cities make place for singles to meet?
As you know that girl I was supposed to hangout with postponed the plan again, i again went out solo to Central part of our city Bangalore, India like to UB City mall, Lavelle Road, Church Street and Indiranaga which are cosmopolitan and upscale parts of the city. On Thursday it was great as I socialized with 3-4 foreign women who are expats here in the city so today I expected i will socialize with more women(both Indian and expats) but everyone was in groups.
I mean i can approach women when they are in female-only pairs or trios but it becomes tricky when its mixed gender(both male and female in the group) groups especially with Indian men as most Indian men are insecure and territorial when it comes to the women they are accompanying. Today even the Cafes were full of couples or mixed gender groups rather than solo women or female-only groups. Even foreign women were in groups. Today Indian men were accompanying Indian women, foreign women and foreign men like literally everyone which made it frustrating as I couldnt approach anyone.
Everywhere whether Cafes, the UB City mall, breweries, Church Street everything was full of tight knit groups making it hard to socialize. I did meet a solo foreign woman in UB City mall and tried to talk but she politely said me she wasnt in a social mood today so i respected her choice and said its okay have a great day and moved on but couldn't find any woman really whom I could approach. The venues were full of families, couples and groups making me stand out as one of the only solo person.
Its hard as I am 24 and freshly done with my MBA and searching for a job so unable to meet new people in a structured setting. Idk why in Indian cities like Bangalore, its hard to meet single women to talk to. At least weekdays are better but today on Sunday, it was super hard. Even if the foreign women were with only Indian women or other foreign women it would have been different but its super risky if Indian men are accompanying women.
