Was our house about to fall apart?

Doing the breakfast dishes this morning I heard a gentle thumping sound. Neighbours working on his house? Sounded closer than that. The thumping got louder and quicker. I put the towel down and began to follow the sound. Under our dining room window I spotted a baby pileated woodpecker banging his beak against the fake rocks we have under the window. He saw me and flew away. Kind of cute.

Our ? You don’t live alone ? That’s surprising. You come off as a way bitter hermit sometimes .

@AthrillatheHunt I am an ordained Pastor who has been married to the same lovely lady for 47 years. I run a small non profit helping homeless people get back on their feet. I ran into one of the ones I helped at the bank a few months back. He is clean and sober and just bought a condo near where he works. I am going out for breakfast with another of my helpees on Saturday. He too is now clean and sober and living in a small apartment. Sadly his former lifestyle did a lot of damage and he has recurring cancers.
