My husband is writing down pin codes and passwords to his cards in case recruiters catch him... 😅

It seems very cynical, but honestly we should have done this earlier, because if they catch him then I would be completely screwed without any money. We only have one phone which he should leave at home if goes out alone, so that I can use google translate, and we only have our money on his bank cards, because I don't have a bank at all. 😅

How does the conscription work? We constantly hear stories that people are just snatched off the street.

@JoeXP Yes, that's how it works. The recruiters drive around in vans and take people on the streets, they also camp outside of schools, shops, and recruit people in workplaces. I've seen videos of them recruiting people walking their dogs, just leaving the dog on the street, pushing people over on bicycle (very common), and witness a man die becauss he ran out in front of a car, running away from them, and nonchelantly driving away without even calling police or an ambulance. Normally it's chill though, and they are actually fairly easy to scare away most of the time.

I realize that this might sound extreme, but it is my norm, so it never occurs to me that people will think I am talking badly about Ukraine, when I talk about it. I just talk about it because it's a factor in my life. I am against this kind of recruitment, as we all are over here, but I understand that Ukraine finds herself in a situation where we constantly need more people. Ukrainians are not protesting a lot, because they all understand why it is this way. This war is a tragedy for everyone.

The recruiters are some of the worst people you can imagine, because most of them are doing this instead of going to war themselves. I'm sure the hypocrisy is obvious.

Sadly they also recruit very physically ill people, which I think should be protested strongly. Mentally ill people too for that matter.

An idiot earlier today freaked out, because he thought this means I dislike Ukraine. I love Ukraine, I wouldn't live here for all these years if I didn't. I'm from Denmark and moved here in 2018, and made the decision to stay when the war happened, because I love my husband too. He is not allowed to leave the country, but very recently they allowed men between the ages 18-22 to leave the country, which is wonderful.

I don't mind people asking questions, I am happy to answer them. As long as people don't come to me with premade assumptions about a topic they have no knowledge on. 😅
