Paid attention, learned from my mistakes ..

@BrandNewMan paid attention to what?
BrandNewMan · M
@Ferise1 Lives happening around me .. observed others, including their mistakes.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@BrandNewMan do you have some examples?
BrandNewMan · M
@Ferise1 Its not rocket science dude ..
Saw people get in trouble with debt/credit cards, DUIs, hanging out with criminals, etc .. learned some sh!t not to do
Saw people working hard, managing their money responsibly, drinking responsibly, making investments in themselves, picked up some good habits.

@BrandNewMan I’m talking about finding a job or a career path
Not problems related to alcohol

@Ferise1 Mentioned a lot more than alcohol there.
Investing in ones self usually involves education beyond high school .. trades apprenticeship .. small business set up .. getting real estate license or a certification .. etc .. all leading to better pay. Saw people do that by joining the Ntl Guard, ROTC scholarships, taking advantage of employer tuition reimbursement - like I did.
Managing your money better can help you fund an education instead of paying so much interest on loans, especially credit cards.
Same w not spending $10k in lawyer fees for a DUI or other charges.

@BrandNewMan I never heard of apprenticeships or studies that led to careers apart from Dr or lawyer.
I had no idea what to do

@BrandNewMan yes well I never heard of those before
I thought I was destined to university, but I just couldn’t cope
And now it’s too late

@Ferise1 You have what .. 15-20 yrs left to work? Its NOT too late. My soon to be Ex-Wife just completed a master's degree at 54 .. my brother did it at 48. I am looking at possibly doing a certified financial planner program at 61, likely 62 before I can actually start it, to have something after retiring from my first career.
You could absolutely go to a 1 to 2 yr program for truck driving .. welding .. HVAC tech or even for an associate degree in something else . and it readily more than pay you back for doing so
