@Notsimilarreally You want to hear the sad truth? I think once he and I are done, it'll be the last relationship I'm ever in. It's not because I'm insecure, maybe I just don't want to be in one. Maybe I'm tired and I don't want to start the whole process over and risk being an idiot for love again. What even is being cherished? I just don't think I'm going to find that. The fact that I'm losing hope is kind of a relief. So I'll enjoy the few good parts. The sex. Occasional laughter. Because once we're 3000 miles apart, I'm getting myself back. That's the most exciting thought. The ability to be myself.

@ScreamingFox sure, it's okay to feel that way and it is a relief. I had a sense of relief when I felt like I just didn't want to date at all and was single for a few years after leaving heavy abuse. It was lovely. Sure sometimes you miss sex or cuddling or whatever but still, not that much when knowing that having your independence and the emotional safety you didn't get with that abusive person makes life so much better and you have it. You kind of just want to bask in it for a while. Not have to sacrifice things for others.

But emotions and those states of feelings don't always last. It might just be a necessary stage for you right now. And it's great. Jsut saying, you never know what the future holds. What might pop into your life over the next ten years. Ya know?? But jsut doing you is always the most important thing you can do for yourself and your quality of life. Drama freeee
