I wanted to go for years but never did . Now I want to go to La Paz Bolivia instead. It’s the top of the world in the western hemisphere and closer / cheaper

Himalayas has no pilgrimage. There are others like Sabarimala, Tirupati that are pilgrimage that require some adherence for 48 days.
