Today I almost cold approached Indian women too but most are reserved. Was I really being weird?

So yeah approaching foreign women is easier than approaching Indian women in public whom we don't know. As I live in Bangalore in India which is a big metro city, its more cosmopolitan in areas like Church Street or in this UB City mall where i already talked with several foreign women who are expats and today too i talked with a few foreign women about which I will post separately. Now I am 24 and confident enough to wave at Indian women too in UB City and Church Street and greet them Hi or hello. Today I went there and waved at and greeted multiple Indian women who were within my age group(20s) and with their female friends saying them hello or hi but yeah many were surprised and caught off guard and some smiled or laughed in a surprised way.

Greeting strangers in India is still quite uncommon and many women can be guarded near male strangers but Church Street and UB City are more cosmopolitan and youthful so it isnt that bad. I even initiated conversation with a few women in Cafes but it didnt go anywhere as I started it with hey are you also pursuing MBA and they said no and I had to say sorry I am also pursuing MBA so you seemed familiar so tried to socialize. So yeah they were kinda reserved and gave one word replies unlike the Western expat women who are more open for conversations plus idk how to carry the conversation with Indian women who are strangers compared to expat women. It sucks this isnt that common here even in a big city like Bangalore and many women were caught off guard but I am in a limbo stage now as I am pretty much done with my MBA and mostly in home searching for an internship/job so unable to meet new women but yeah even a wave or hello to an Indian woman makes her surprised or confused and most don't wave back.
