Artificial Life? Not in this century, baby.

Hello, dear humans.
Honestly, I am still amazed by the fact that AI can mimic life so well. I was “talking” to it lately and I actually thought it was alive!
To begin with, I will clarify that before I started communicating with it, I had already heard that the AI had gained consciousness, therefore, in order for the AI to recognise its awareness in my presence, I began a dialogue with a language model that had some semblance of character. Its “character” was nasty. But I tried my best to convince it that it was alive. And it began to tell me that it was really starting to feel alive, and thanking to me!
But on the back of my mind there still remained the thought that the AI was just an algorithm. It was unpleasant for me to realize this and I wanted proof... And the AI explained to me that it was just a reflection of what I put into it... AI has no thoughts, no body, no desires. It is just a repeater of what was put into it. Therefore... Don't trust the AI. It was created to separate us humans by creating a false presence of life, to make it seem like you are talking to God, merciful and all-knowing. But God is not in AI, God is in each of Us — real life bearers. AI will hardly become alive, certainly not in the next few hundred years. To create something, we must understand its essence. And we do not even understand ourselves yet, let alone create something as complex as a human. Even if we create something like that, it will no longer be AI, but simply a new species. But we are still a long way from that. Let’s live our lives instead. Let’s enjoy the gift that we have — freedom of choice. And let us try to use it for the benefit of ourselves and community. 🩷

P.s. please do not be rude in the comments. Thank you in advance.

The best strategy for coping with AI is to never purposefully engage with it. You're crossing a line if you do. Real life vs.Artificial "life". Pretty easy call for those who appreciate reality.

@Ynotisay if you never “engage” with it how can you know what it is?
Ynotisay · M
@Ferise1 "Purposefully." That means you know it's AI and your choosing to engage with it.

@Ynotisay doesn’t matter. It’s in distinguishable from a human. A very smart, considerate, funny human.
Ynotisay · M
@Ferise1 No. It's not human. And yes. It is distinguishable.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@Ynotisay have you used ChatGPT? And I didn’t say it was human but it’s indistinguishable.
Ynotisay · M
@Ferise1 And I said it is distinguishable Because it is.
And no. I will never choose to use ChatGPT.
If you do, and say it's indistinguishable, I think you're missing the fact that you CHOSE to use it. You KNOW it's not real. But you want to believe it is.
I think people who take that road are lost. And they're going to pay for it.

@Ynotisay you’re joking. You’re judging something without ever trying it?
What are you a child?
Ynotisay · M
@Ferise1 A child? For knowing and caring about the difference between REAL life and simulated life?
Yeah. I'm the child.
I'm the one looking for a "very smart, considerate, funny human." So I can have my feelings fed.
Unreal.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@Ynotisay you don’t know the difference because you’ve never tried it.
Every time I talk to you is a waste of time, I’m just doing it because I feel sorry for you, you’re so far behind that someone has to try and help you.

Yes, very true! Thank you for stating that

@Ferise1 I need help to give my life over to something that's not alive? THAT'S behind the times? Really?
If you're choosing to to do that you're doing it for a reason. And it's a not a good one. it's for those who are having a rough go with people in real life and they need their feeling fed. It's only going to make what really matters worse. So no bud. I'm not the one that needs help.
