Memory - In honor of mothers day?

My mom passed 5-7-24.

But one of my last favorite memories of hers was this:

For my job, I sometimes run errands. Post office, bank, UPS, etc.

One day when I went to USPS, I walked out and saw a car that looked like my moms.

By the time I reached my car and looked long enough, I realized it was my mom.

I ran over to her, so happy to see her.

After that day, I reflected, and realized what love really was.

Between mother and child, exists an unspoken connection, well beyond the physical.

A perception exceeding the 5 senses;
its why we "feel" their presence well before we ever see them; or know they're in trouble, even from miles away.

I remember shopping, once, after work. The store was packed.

Far off, there was a blur of navy blue, then a flash of white. Disappearing, then reappearing amongst the crowd.

Long before I saw her face, I knew who it was:
My mother, last minute xmas shopping.

As a grown man, I brimmed with joy and overwhelming love at our unexpected meeting.

A depth of love that endures forever, that even death cannot break.

I'll always remember her eyes with their heartfelt longing; and her tight embrace.

Those of us fortunate to know our parents and a loving home, will cherish those moments forever.
