There's not much known on that! In fact, it's like nobody really knows.
I'm guessing we all became willing and ready very early in the life process, maybe it's universal.

I heard somewhere about soul contracts. Where you make an agreement with your parents to inhabit the body being formed.

That's an ages old question. In Jewish legend and lore, there is a place called the Guf that exists to house our souls before we're born, so according to that, yes, we did ask to be born. The Hindus and Buddhists both have beliefs in reincarnation, so they would say the same.
