Have most people witnessed or experienced something that deeply disturbed them for life?

I saw a video, taken by witnesses, of a man driving off the end of a fishing pier. It was the last moment's of his life. It was at sunrise and as he went off the pier, a flock of birds flew over. I'll never forget it.

It still haunts me to this day. I've spent alot of time on that very pier & I've never gone back there..
