yes its called trauma. something someone said to me once that helped was to think to yourself "where are you now?" when you start thinking about it and getting upset. you need to build mental/emotional resilience to help cope. i would also suggest learning to meditate or recite mantra in your head. that helps me in a lot of unpleasant situations.
