Check out the historic Los Angeles Theatre, across the street is also the historic and recently revamped Cliftons Cafeteria which is also very awesome. I could write a book about L.A as I grew up in suburbs and spent years exploring old downtown.

@NigelDoes: Thing is, with that building, the guy who designed the building installed these incredible skylights that got blacked-out during WW2, after a couple of decades they finally replaced them which totally turned the interior into a incredible bright and airy showplace that they have kept intact all these years later. The wood panels and wrought iron are nothing short of fabulous.

I'm in L.A. and the San Gabriel mountains delivers some eye candy. Really nice views of the basin on the way up the 2 and, if you're a hiker, the upper elevations are awesome. Fair amount of snow up there now if that's your thing. I was solo night hiking there just yesterday. The Santa Monica Mountains are a great place to get some big ocean views and Griffith Park in L.A. (particularly Mt. Hollywood which is near the Observatory) is nice too, especially at night.

Used to live in San pedro. Some good stuff. Point ferman and *sunken city* also the Korean bell is just a 2 min walk from there. The views of catalina are lovely. Can also walk down to the beach from there as well. It's a hidden gem and usually not too crowded unless it's summer and the weekend

@Coyotedave611: send me the address and I'll check for you! I'm always in the neighborhood!
Coyotedave611 · M
@Buzzinbrina13: Hmmm that was before you were born, I don't even think there is an address anymore that entire block was wayyyy too close to the edge. lol
Buzzinbrina13 · 31-35, F
@Coyotedave611: there's a piece of road that's completely closed off, so you're probably right.

I love hiking in the San Gabriel mountains. I'm very close to Angeles Crest which makes it easy. Don't go out on the town much anymore. I really prefer to be a homebody and chill with my cat.

Right on. I'm up there every weekend except when I'm taking longer backpacking trips. Getting some decent snow this year. Keep it coming!

Finally the rain and snow are coming! More tomorrow apparently. My lawn has never looked so green. :-)

Trivia question: who was the "starlet" who jumped to her death from the Hollywood sign?....I used to know but forgot.
Buzzinbrina13 · 31-35, F
@Coyotedave611: Peg Entwistle lol, I just googled it

@Buzzinbrina13: Oh yeah, thats right! sad thing is, the following day after her death she was offered a big part in a hit play. Very tragic. Thanks for looking it up.
