Life's Little Reminders

Last Saturday, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I walked into this small, cozy café I’d never noticed before and found a seat by the window. I had my book with me, but honestly, I was just there for the quiet.

While I was sipping on my tea, an older woman sitting nearby smiled at me and said, ‘That book must be really good.’ We ended up talking for nearly an hour. She shared stories about her life—her first love, her biggest regrets, and the little things that still make her happy.

Before she left, she touched my hand and said, ‘Life is too short to be scared of trying new things.’ That simple moment stayed with me. It felt like a reminder to slow down and let life surprise me sometimes.

That reminds me of this quote:

"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” ― Christopher McCandless

Also, what was the book that you had with you?
