When I was in my early 20s I worked at a camp way out in the bush.

The camp was in the middle of a old growth forest. Large spruce trees, and poplar a few pine trees. Beautiful setting. Yesterday I thought I would take a walk down memory lane and went back to the old stomping grounds. I couldn't recognise the place. Where old growth forest was 40 years ago now was open meadow. I was very disappointed. I found a local and asked what had happened. I suspected farmers or oil and gas industry or logging. The local laughed and said you won't believe this but we had a huge windstorm that knocked down the trees. A local logging company was asked to come in and log the windfall so the ground could be replanted with native trees.

And so it goes.

@daydeeo The only constant in this life is change. Rather jarring to see so much change though. Only two monuments there that I remember.
