I am watching my nephew eat ,and I think I have done well in life.

Not the best but not the worst either. None of them will ever have to go through what I did. They are happy, safe, well fed ,dressed, heard, getting the best education, playing sports, healthy, loved..

It is good work.

Not that I have forgotten the plenty of people who still can't have any of it. Some of whom impact my life ,and I wish I could do more for.

But I am content by what I have.

I think about this often.
I see my nephew and think how I would have thought that he was rich if we knew each other as kids. They are not, but I guess that’s the word I would have used for kids that were involved, well taken care of, and I guess just not neglected.
It’s odd, but there is part of me that is even happy that he can have an attitude with his mom sometimes. Not that I want that for her, but I know it means he knows an unconditional love and isn’t afraid of his parents.

@itsok it is important for them to have a little defiance, I believe. I try to not take it away from children as long as they express it the healthy way. There are enough blind followers in the world.
