This is so true

A giant ship's engine broke down and no one could repair it, so they hired a Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of experience.
He inspected the engine very carefully, from top to bottom. After seeing everything, the engineer unloaded his bag and pulled out a small hammer.
He knocked something gently. Soon, the engine came to life again. The engine has been fixed!
A week later the engineer mentioned to the ship owner that the total cost of repairing the giant ship was $20,000.
"What?!" said the owner. “You did almost nothing. Give us a detailed bill."
The Engineer replied him “The answer is simple:”
Tap with a hammer: $2
Know where to knock and how much to knock: $19,998
The importance of appreciating one's expertise and experience...because those are the results of struggles, experiments and even tears.
If I do a job in 30 minutes it's because I spent 20 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes. You owe me for the years, not the minutes.
Reason I like being paid percentage in some of my career choices. You take 6 hours to do what I do in 2. Why should you make more for being less efficient?

Experience doesn`t come from a box. ;)
When TVs and VCRs still required repairs they cost upwards of $600 to $1,000 for quality units, and I was interested in getting into the industry, so in early 1992 I took a basic electronics course to get my foot in the door. My Grandfather, who had several electronics engineering degrees, asked me how would I be able to justify charging $350 for merely diagnosing and replacing a fifty cent capacitor, I told him my knowledge from learning and training on what to do, he told me I'd do well in the business. After I finished the basic class I learned I'm red/green color blind, which disqualified me from finishing the corse. The people that owned the company that sponsored me taking it chewed me out saying they paid a lot of money to get me into that class, only to lose it for being color blind, how didn't I know I was. I was so pissed I went nose to nose to him, growling that I didn't know, and for the next person to give them the eye test BEFORE they start the class, then walked out. When I told my Grandfather he just looked at me and then told me I said the right thing.
