How do you treat people who you think are stupid?

It’s on my mind lately that it’s the general response of most people to mistreat those they think are stupid. That, in their minds, it’s deserved. I think that mentality especially shows up in customer service jobs, where customers think people working certain jobs are dumb.
But maybe I just think even stupid people should be treated with basic decency because I happen to be one of them. Of course I don’t want to be mistreated.

I don't think i'm mean to them, but i might have to speak a little differently, like over explaining things, which if my assessment is wrong, then i could see how it would come off as rude, for which i would want to be notified asap so i can get my act together asap.

@SW-User I try not to be mean or rude either when I think someone is dumber than I am. I do remember losing my patience in some moments, though. And people have lost their patience with me. It’s very different to that customer kind of almost hate towards people in certain jobs which they think indicate the person unfortunate enough to deal with them works.

@Colonelmustardseed Yeah, i shiver at the thought of being in circumstances where it'd be so bad i'd have to get angry with another, getting angry for real isn't pleasant at for me.
