Say honestly was it really that creepy like redditors say when i approached that woman?

I have posted previously that 4 days ago, i went to this really posh area of our city Bangalore in India and saw a German woman who is an expat here and she was walking on the sidewalk and I initiated a conversation with her. She looked anywhere in the 26-35 age range(28-30 is the most likely) and I am 23. We had a pretty decent conversation and she was really friendly too but i forgot to ask her Instagram due to nervousness. Yesterday I went to the same area to eat in a cafe there. I again saw her there but she was going on bicycle on the sidewalk. I again saw her and said her excuse me and smiled at her while waving my hand at her and she too recognized me and said oh hi but she had to take the left to go where she lives so she said "oh sorry i have to cross the road to take the left turn" so we couldnt have a conversation. So i posted about it on reddit especially in the india related relationship and omg you won't believe how many people called me a creep. They all were saying how i made her uncomfortable by being a creep. Idk i never made her uncomfortable at all. I maintained a good distance while talking and we only had a handshake saying nice to meet you. But these reddit people were calling me a creep and telling me to leave her alone. Some even said me to not approach any woman at all. So say honestly, was it really creepy like they said or are they overreacting?
