56 yrs on this earth and counting - sad that 3 of my own children could not even be bothered to wish me happy birthday and people wonder why my life is so empty

I do understand, I raised my son as a single parent and at a time I had no money, no friends to speak of. Haven't heard from him in over ten years and really don't know of his whereabouts.
But what I'm left with is fond memories and wouldn't change it for anything. We've done our job as parents and all I can do is wish him the best.
