My Pondicherry trip was boring because of this. Do you feel i had a very unrealistic expectation?

Last week, I went to Pondicherry for a trip which is a coastal city in Southern India about 315 km from our city Bangalore. I went there with family tho but i had some unrealistic expectations and the reality was completely different. While going to Pondicherry, i was hearing the song Colombian Girl by Edward Maya and I was excited thinking I might meet women for fun and stuffs around beaches or resorts like how it might be in Colombia or in Pattaya in Thailand or something similar. Yes I am 23 and so i was excited and I thought i would meet many foreign women too and have fun on the beaches sitting under an umbrella in the beach and enjoying the views with women next to me. But the reality was completely different. Pondicherry too had somewhat of a conservative atmosphere. The beaches were crowded and mostly full of other Indian families. No umbrellas or anything. No single women. Everyone was in groups or with family. The nightlife is subdued. Even the foreign tourist women were accompanied by their boyfriend or husband or they went in groups. Overall couldnt meet even one woman. Even though, Pondicherry had French influences and some areas like French colony look more European but the population is predominantly local Tamil people and their culture is conservative. There are no beach parties or anything on the beaches either where people can socialize as all the venues in Pondicherry are heavily family-oriented. In Indian coastal areas, only in Goa the atmosphere is more liberal with more foreigners and solo travellers, vibrant nightlife, beach parties, carnivals and more socializing. Sadly when i went there in 2016, i was only 15 so too young. In our city Bangalore which is a big metropolitan city, I do have better chances of meeting women including expats from foreign countries but ny experience in Pondicherry was boring because of the more conservative atmosphere with only focus on family oriented venues. I did enjoy the food tho there like I ate lobster for the first time and ate the yummy crab lollipop too. Sadly I feel i am missing out with women especially at a younger age and I am literally 23 now.

@SW-User Yeah. It was too conservative. Idk haha why i expected it to be like Pattaya in Thailand or Columbia or some Western Countries where guys have fun with girls

If you like old world charm, waves of the sea, good food, wine & spirituality - Pandicheri is the place.
What you longed for is in Kovalam, near Kanyakumari or Varca, Candolm, or even Kolva, Goa.

@Domking i have been to Kovalam too in 2017 but i was only 16. In Goa trip, i was just 15. I saw beautiful foreign women but i was too young and accompanied by my family. Now i am 23 so it would have been better to go to such place. But yeah the beaches of Pondicherry was beautiful and i loved the food there like Lobster Thermidor, crab lollipop
