Was it really a bad thing that i took my crush's number by kinda lying to her and do you think she came to know that I lied and took her number?

As you all know that I finally got my crush Akankshya's number last week but i had to do it in a clever way. She is also within 21-23 age range and I am 23. I was learning about Google Forms in the classes where I go so i got an idea of creating a car survey on Google form and say her that its an urgent assignment for me so she should fill so in that way i can get her number. So i met her and said about the Google Form i created and told that it was an urgent assignment just to get her number. So she said she will fill it and gave her number to me. She did give me her correct number as we checked by calling her number and the call indeed went to her phone. I was having this happy cloud 9 feeling after i finally got her number. Then i messaged her on Whatsapp the form but she didnt even see my text. Then i met her again 3 days ago and asked her about the form and she replied "oh sh*t i forgot to fill it. I am sorry. I was also feeling sick for the past 2 days so didnt even come for classes".

I asked for an advice about this topic on another site and some were criticizing me for kinda lying to her to just get her number. Do you all feel it was bad of me? Do you think she came to know about it too that I kinda lied and just wanted her number? I like her a lot and as exams will start soon we wont be able to meet as much in person for a long enough time so i am also thankful that i finally got her number but idk whether i did the right thing or not.
