Am I just waiting too long to ask her out? Should I ask her out soon?

I have been having crush on this girl Akankshya for 2 months. We go for the same insititute but different classrooms. She is within the 21-23 age range and I am 23 now and I really really like her. We have been having brief conversations often and I even complimented her twice. Once i called her cute and another time i said she looks like a model so she will do well after she said she is taking part in a Fashion competition. Today also we met and talked again. It was all normal conversations and we again showed each other this 🤟 hand gesture and we actually hold each others fingers while showing the gesture. Today some of my class guys too saw me talking with her and i was bragging to them. She is very pretty almost model like so it feels so good talking with her. But i feel like i am waiting for too long and still didnt ask her out as i am afraid because I look like a nerd in my glasses. I am still not fully sure whether she is single or not. I am still shy to ask her for a hug too. What should I do? I really like her and wanna go somewhere to eat with her and want a hug from her as i am feeling really empty these days ever since i got ghosted by this another girl Sharanya whom i knew for 8-9 months.
