Today i complimented my crush for the first time. Was it a good move?

This post is about my more recent crush Akankshya in the classes where i go and not the one who isnt replying to my dms on Instagram whose name is Sharanya(the one who is 19 turning 20 next month and known her for 8 months). I have been crushing on Akanshya for over a month. She is within 21-23 age range and I am also 23 and we had been having brief conversations for a while as we arent in the same classrooms. But today after we met again, I finally complimented her. I said she was looking really cute today and she smiled and said me thanks. We started showing each other this 🤟 hand gesture too just like i show my other friends. It felt really good as i got the courage to compliment her. This is one of my first time i complimented a girl in person as I always had been too shy and my mood was finally better after talking with her today as I was really too upset about Sharanya for the past 4 days as she isnt chatting with me anymore. Even though I was happy with my conversation with Akankshya, after I came home and saw Sharanya online on Instagram and still didnt see my text on Instagram, I again started feeling terrible and down with almost tears coming in my eyes. I have known Sharanya for 8 months which is longer compared to Akankshya so it hurts. I am still hoping that she isnt ghosting me and has genuine reasons behind not replying to my messages.
