Do you remember your 'firsts'?

I was thinking about 'firsts' - all the little firsts that add up to the building of a relationship.
The first date. The first kiss. The first time to say "I love you." These milestones have often been gobbled up at a rate of knots.
Then there are the ones which signify an actual significant relationship. First meeting of the family, for instance. Living together or marrying, and this would always seem like a massive step with much deliberation required, especially if you have always been possessive of your space.
But one important first, one that would show your true metal is through illness. This is where love would truly prove it's worth for one another.
