Would you mind working on your day off?

If I was paid overtime I would do it. Otherwise, I have a busy homelife outside work, so I can't sacrifice that for nothing.

I would never go in at weekends. I was once challenged on this for a Friday after work INSET and threatened with a formal warning. I checked with my Union. It was illegal. Instead of a warning, I got a cup of tea and a biscuit. And the guy who challenged me, obviously had too much curry at the weekend.
@SW-User funny. In a job i had at one time i would have to work weekends. Used to be a CNA but didn't work out cause of personal reasons. I am in my 40s as well

@Pizzalover45 Some jobs necessitate weekend work. I once worked in a grain drier. Wheat has to be dried seven days a week. You had to be flexible.
@SW-User That is what I was trying to say is that it is necessary in some jobs because caring for the elderly is a job that requires someone to work everyday of the week. Don't know if I am getting to the point or not.

Depends on why. The m the only one who does my job so there isn’t a back up for me. Sometimes things come up that can’t wait.
Yes but I would if I was really needed. But then I would look for a job where I'm not needed on my time off.

I have a feeling it is now illegal to pester employees on their days off.........

Unless employees' contracts explicitly states that they must be available outside normal working hours, phoning them at these times is an invasion of their privacy.22 Sept 2023

@ArtieKat clearly an English doctor.
I've worked many a day off. But then, I was self-employed.

I minded, but I almost always complied.

I don't like it but I do if I need to.

i would mind deeply
I’ve done it often during my working life. If I wasn’t doing anything more important, more work = more money. And it was generally time and a half or double time, if I’d worked a full week.
