There's definitely some truth to that. But all things being equal I think access to a successful life (which is subjective) plays a big role as well. But no matter how connected someone is they still have to deliver the goods. I think sports is a good example. Barry Bonds grew up with a father who was also a great baseball player. So he was around it. But he still still had to perform. If he didn't he wouldn't have had a career. There aren't too many successful people who just roll over when things don't work out. They keep pushing.

Very true … circumstances are important but they can’t be a main factor of success if one has not the will and the knowledge to take advantage of it …

@Soossie Yep. And that's why the "nepo baby" stuff we see a lot doesn't carry much weight. You still have to deliver.
