Good job! Was that a goal?

We are all little piggies around the holidays

Lost 15 pounds.

WooHOO!
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
I have weighed very much the same since I was 23 and I'm now 47. I'm lucky that way. My weight doesn't change yearly or monthly, it just stays constant.
Wow. Lucky you.
I never weigh. I know to cut back when my jeans get tight.
This is why I need jeans. My stretchy clothes are too forgiving. :(
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Calliope: well then don't buy stretch jeans....I have some and gained weight and then lost 23 and now they are a little loose, they are too stretchy in my opinion. I remember when I used to lose about 12-15 pounds and had to buy new jeans.

23 pounds lost
Nice.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DreamyCrush: I need to start walking a few miles every week, think that would help even more.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I have no idea. I do know that I'm significantly heavier than 3 years ago when I smoked and drank. Now I look good through the upper body, chest, shoulders and arms. My goal is to get rid of about ten lbs around the stomach. That'll be easy to drop because I'll be sparring much more starting in January. I could drop 8-10 lbs in a day if I had to, but it's simply not healthy to do it that way. Over the next three months it'll just be core, cardio and sparring. That should get rid of the extra 10 around the gut.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I gained in the stomach and noticed so many people 40 and above that have. Stopped eating wheat (and now other grains) and substituted potatoes for the starch, they are resistant starches. Wheat is an inflammatory grain because it's been hybridized in the past few decades...it didn't bother most people to eat bread and other wheat products when I was young but it does now. It messes with insulin and causes insulin resistance. I stopped craving sweets 48 hours after starting a Resistant Starch experiment and stopped eating anything wheat...Dr. William Davis explains what wheat is doing to our health in his books.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti: mine comes from liking food now. I never liked it previously, but now I'm working out more with a trainer on a weekly basis.

I'll check into the wheat info though. Thank you. It sounds like good advise. 👍🏻

@Adogslife: I've lost 23 pounds since November 1st and a good deal of it was from my belly....this is the only thing that got my appetite back to healthy where I haven't craved sweets at all now...I am craving a hamburger (the only thing I've craved and haven't eaten) but don't want to risk eating a wheat bun and until I find a good recipe to make a low-carb grain-free bread I won't eat one.

Too much. -.- Stupid spine injury and holiday season, and buffet giving my brother tons of take out for cheap because the owner likes him.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Probably not much, either way. It would be nice to be able to afford to go to a doctor.

I lost 18 lbs, but I think I can still lose another 2 by the time the year's over

I've lost 14 pounds since September 😄😄👍🏻👍🏻

I'm 39. My weight hasn't changed much the last 20 years... is that odd?
hunkalove · 61-69, M
There is a character in John Sandford's Virgil Flowers mystery novels named Johnson Johnson.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Johnson: It's odd these days because so many are gaining weight even if they are exercising...think it's the wheat and other grains that's been genetically altered to increase crop size. It also increases belly size sadly.
johnsonjohnson3 · 41-45, M
@hunkalove: that's where I stole the name from!

Lost about a stone over the last month, and not purposely.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
A kidney stone?
SW-User
@hunkalove: not that I know of. I was on some medication that had the side effect of making me hungry, but I stopped taking it.
Noble · 56-60, M
Not sure...I rarely step on a scale...my pants still fit, so I feel pretty good about it😉
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
It's up and down. Gain three lose two. Lose five, gain three.
SW-User
Nothing overall. Just the normal fluctuations
Ugh. I always fluctuate 10-15lbs
Adogslife · 61-69, M
Don't get attached to a scale. Just judge how the weight looks on you. 12lbs is no big deal. I wouldn't worry.
Aww, you're sweet, thanks. I'm tall, so I can carry it, but I know I shouldn't be this heavy at my age.
wudifu · 46-50, M
This year has been good to you then ? Or maybe u were just to lazy to work out ?
Yes, a bit of both. I definitely slacked on working out. I'll be among those resolution makers in the gym for the new year.
