I wanted to watch Schindler's List but my partner wants to watch Puss in Boots 2 😕

@SW-User PIB2 ? Don't think I've seen that one, but the 1st one? Good call !

We did watch 'Black Adder's Christmas Carol', as we always do at Christmas, this morning.

@KarenDuponteDurose I’ve seen PIB2 too but only because I have a son who watched it when he was 12, not something I’d seek out on my own as an adult lol.
SW-User
@SW-User Well I suppose we're not as self-important as you, we both think PIB2 is a surprisingly good movie! I would rather recommend to people in their early 30'ies, than to someone who's 12.
SW-User
@SW-User It was okay, that was the one with Big Jack Horner right?

I’m not important at all lol.

@KarenDuponteDurose It deals with the loss of feeling immortal as we get older, commitment, and anxiety. It's an excellent animated movie which parents can enjoy with their children too. The art is experimental and it pulls off mixing 2D animation with 3D extremely well. 🫶🏻

@SW-User Yes, that's the one, although I didn't find Jack Horner very interesting or memorable. The movie could have done without him and that bear girl, in my opinion, but that stuff was in there for the children I'm sure. I'm surprised how well it actually managed having three seperate villains in the first place, quite outstanding! 😃

@SW-User “That bear girl” aka Goldilocks?

Yeah I guess those outrageous characters sort of overwhelmed the movie a bit. What Puss and his partner were going through was a more mature of a story.

@SW-User I think that's like saying that any characters who are there for comedic relief, overwhelm movies and shows. They couldn't have made the movie they made under this title, if it was completely serious. Perhaps you just saw those things, which in turn made you pay less attention to the details of the main story? Like you took a look and thought "that's a childish movie" based on those moments. You're also older than me of course, and it makes perfect sense that it appeals less to people who have already gone through and dealt with those topics. I'm also just interested in everything creative, animation, story-telling et cetera, but I think what shocked everyone, including me, the most, was that such a good movie came out under such a ridiculous title haha. 🫶🏻

@SW-User Not every comedic relief character overwhelms their movie. These 2 happened to do so.
