It's okay to make mistakes. In search of who I am. What is the truth, who am I?

I'm constantly narrating the story of my life to myself. I don't find any narratives satisfying enough.

🤔 we,re just tracing paths on the water, and as time goes by, these fade away, so dwelling on them feels of no use, and tracing new ones is only for the happiness the moment brings. Who am I? Well, that's so ephemeral, as every moment forces me to adapt, to change, even if just in the smallest way, and in the morass of all these changes, is there really a core that I can say "this is really me"? Yes, but it's not solid, static and monolithic.

Aaaaand, I have no idea what I just wrote, or how it relates to what you said, so here's a tiny fox riding a racoon

@OnePatheticClown but it was soooo profound 😭

Yes, it's fine. The key is learning from mistakes and never doing them again: you only make the same mistake once.

Do more mistakes. Learn more, Evolve more.

Keep going on and you'll eventually find your real true self. Good luck!

I've discovered that the world is flat and that India is the centre of the universe. No wonder the UK wanted it so bad.

What patheticclown said basically in their comment
Sometimes we just want someone else to help us with our stories and narratives on life? Close connections, who give you affection, love, and meaning, are sometimes just what we need.
elafina · 36-40, F
@thewindupbirdchronicles that's another way to go around it, a warming one:)
@elafina I know the feeling, and it is only one way to see it... (or narrate life). 🩷
BearDownChicago · 41-45, M
I can relate. I question my path most times. I feel guilty yet I know everyone makes decisions they might not be proud of
elafina · 36-40, F
@BearDownChicago everyone does, it's how each one responds to them in the end..
BearDownChicago · 41-45, M
@elafina you are right!!
daydeeo · 61-69, M
That's because the story isn't over yet.
The story of becoming is a satisfying one. The Search is one of the most fundamental stories there is.
elafina · 36-40, F
@daydeeo thank you, it makes sense and yes it is..

When I had employees I was always planning on making a sign to put above my desk
I may make mistakes...... but being wrong isn't one of them
😁

@ArtieKat even better:

"The very one time I was wrong happened the day I thought I was wrong"
Life is a journey and we all make mistakes. You have to learn from them and become the person you want to be.
It's very human to make mistakes. Listen to yourself telling you who you are in various ways.
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
You don't absolutely have to have a life narrative . It is okay to just be (and change over time too).
scorpio611 · 41-45, M
You are born as a human and its a purpose in itself.

If you have t found out who you are by now, it may be too late.
