Finally ate this Burger. Was it wrong of me to eat it being an Indian Hindu?

I finally ordered this tenderloin burger from the restaurant Burger seigneur in our city Bangalore. Its actually buffalo meat. Yeah i ate buffalo meat today for the first time just barely a week after trying bacon. We Hindus consider cow as God so we don't eat beef at all and its banned in most of India but buffalo isnt sacred in India so big restaurants in big metro cities of India does serve buff meat. My parents had no idea that I ate buffalo meat burger right in front of them as I lied to them that its lamb. It was really delicious tho and one of the yummiest burger I have ever eaten but is it fine that I ate the burger as Buffalo isnt sacred like cow in India? I will never eat beef tho.

I've never tried buffalo burger. So is it a particular species of cow that's sacred in Hinduism, I wonder?
