What's with all these Ryan Homes and cheap housing going up?

I mean being built. I'm in a rural area, about 5 minutes away drive time, I guess someone sold their property, now it's destroyed with crap, cheap housing. And then just now going through another town, I saw more crap housing being built.

I get that people move and need homes but like these land developers are literally destroying everything with their cheap, crap housing 😡😡🤬🤬😡

That's what happens in a tight economy.
Landowners don't want to pay tax on vacant lots; developers take bribes/bungs/sweetners from government and build 'low cost housing'......of varying quality in the hope it'll attract 'working poor' with mortgages they can afford.

Happens everywhere.

@twiigss Fair comment. Getting old is hard when you're poor. Maybe they'd had enough and couldn't see the current farce ending any time soon and just thought maybe they'd retire and try and enjoy life for a while.

@Picklebobble2 we live on like 2 acres, no farm land but it's a lot to have to mow.

what amazes me is that double wide mobile homes/modulars sitting on 1/4 acre or less plot of insignificant land now list for what you could build a four bedroom house for only a few years ago...

there's one just down the road from me (just a basic/conventional double wide that's at least 8-10 years old) that actually sold for $700,000, on a barren 1/8th acre plot that's right next to a busy highway with no view...

In my urban area there are few untouched lots. They are slowly being infilled with housing that is crammed into the inadequate space.

And if there is no space but high demand, people will buy a small old house, tear it down, and erect a small mansion filling most of the lot.
