Is 22 or 23 too young to become bald as a man?

I have this friend named Probodh in the class where I am going for some exam preparations to get into an MBA B School. He is 22 now and is turning 23 by the end of this month but he pretty much fully bald except some hair at the back and side of his head. I am also 22 but i have lot of hair and my friends and relatives compliments my hair too. How come my friend is already bald at only 22-23? Would he have a hard time dating as many women say they don't want bald men? Is 22 or 23 really too young to become bald?
