From what we saw last summer remodeling my mom’s house, if you let many of these contractors do whatever they want with no supervision, they will try to cut corners.

@SW-User I believe it. My kids’ dad has worked w/guys who argued w/him to do just that. He didn’t like doing that. That’s one thing about him I give him credit for, he does the work as it should be done.. we don’t own this place, so they have their own people coming.

@MellyMel22 The older foreman on the job was better, but initially they were sending over these younger guys unsupervised, and many were wanting to be just standing around in their phones all the time. When they tried to do work, they didn’t seem to know what they were doing. They were used to renovating low income apartment buildings with nobody watching them. My mom had to complain repeatedly about them, and eventually they all were fired, and the foreman did most of the rest of the work.
