Would you be comfortable leaving your home for a month..

While a room or two are being renovated by strangers?

No....I wouldn’t do it. Absolutely not.
A condo is something you own, and you have a right to be there....even if you might need to get out of the way at times.
I don’t let people do anything in my house unless I’m there. You should be there if only to let them know that you’re around.
You can always stay somewhere else overnight, but I’d keep control of the keys to my unit and not allow anyone in unless I let them in.
In a condo, you own it.....i.e., YOU are the landlord (not the representative of the condo association). This is different than a co-op, in which you would own shares of stock and the management is in control.
Never have the management decide.....in a condo, you own the unit and you have an absolute right to be there. There’s no reason for you not to be there.

@DragonFruit I’m renting, been here since I was 18. The owner is trying to get it all done, but mentioned us staying at a hotel for a month. I told her I want to be here anytime someone is here. It’s my home, everything inside is mine.

@MellyMel22 That’s different.....if you’re not the owner, the owner can ask you to vacate. However, she can’t stop you from showing up even if she has control of the unit. Has she told you not to be there? Just let her know that you’ll be present whenever anyone is working there....don’t ask, make sure she knows that you will be there.

@DragonFruit Not yet, but she did say before that they’d cover a hotel for a month. I don’t want that. I think she wants no one here, but she knows how I feel as of tonight about that. So we’ll see. It’s my belongings here, I think I have a right to be here.
