To be pure

I wish we didn't all have to pretend life was so rigid and structured.. but it seems others demand it. They demand we be what they want us to be.. but who are we really? How many sacrifices must we make, before we wonder if we still are who we think we are.

We give ourselves away to the demands of others because we are afraid of not being good enough to be who we truly want to be. I've no answers.. plans.. angles.. but what I do have is a whisper inside me, calling me to think, maybe I can feel like a child again, with someone who needs it as much as I do.

Somethings aren't traps, aren't efforts to get something.. but you might be to broken to ever see it. Can't you remember when we both were children dreaming of someone who understood our deepest.. purest.. desire to be seen and experience and loved?

Or is it truly too late for us to remember what it felt like to be pure?

Beautifully written!

I don't feel the world is as structured and rigid as you imply. I've held those experiences in my life, and while I give to you in words of such a trap, we can also set that trap up in our own minds where we project the world as being. I, suppose, it comes down to experiences, cultures, whom you have met and fallen in love with, yet I find freedom is found when you reach inside yourself instead of demanding of the world what you wish to see.

I think it starts with the school system. To mold us into complacent little slaves who are willing to work in a rat race and pay taxes to the government for politicians and others to squander.

@cherokeepatti Exactly spot on there
@cherokeepatti Without seeing the hearts, so I can't see if the op hearted this, I'm not sure how this fits in topic.... some of us are over trying to overreach topics to fit our narratives, this one felt more personal than some bullshit about political narratives, but of course I could be wrong.
