Do you have a loved one Incarcerated

My oldest son is in till 2024. He is always calling for money that I don't have. I try to explain that I am out here on on own trying to make it. It's like he doesn't understand. Is their someone here that may have done time that can explain it better to me. Felling Frustrated. I DON'T NEED YOUR JUDGMENT BTW hoping for some understanding

My oldest was in jail several years ago. His issue was, and still is, his sense of entitlement. That’s also what landed him in jail, btw. We don’t talk much these days since I won’t fund his life .

Been there. At a certain point, even though they are your child, you have to wash your hands of their nonsense. I invested too much into trying to get mine straight and had it stuck up my ass too many times. Never again and that is a hard statement to make. I wish you the best.
Not exactly, but I have 2 Childhood friends. And know the hell they've put their family through.

One just beginning a life sentence for murder; the other--served time for manslaughter-- was laid to rest last week. After barricading himself inside a residence after a home invasion, he took his life before police penetrated.

We're still trying to take it all in.

So the issue is commissary. The small amount of money given to prisoners isn't nearly enough so the few opportunities for relief or cigarettes or anything food etc. Is mostly out of reach the only other way to get money is of someone sends it to u. My buddy is in prison for gun possession and having 12 bullets so he's an felon anyway the gun put him away for 10 years and each bullet an additional 5 years. Like geez. NYS law though. He's gonna be there a long time.

@exchrist there's no more smoking allowed in any Florida prisons but I get what you mean

@lwshm64 ah Im talking about NY prisons. Idk if it's changed but that's how it was

sorry for your situation. You mean in 2024 he goes before the parole board or in 2024 his sentence is over and he is out clear and free of the Criminal Justice Dept?
lwshm64 · 56-60, F
