I understand the meanings of the original quote. Yet, some don't have the ability to revoke their life circumstances from what they endure - even if I wanted to tell them, they have that power to revoke, it becomes insensitive of their plight. The second quote, when you truly reflect, is not all much different from the first, but this allows the idea Marcus Aurelius didn't always foresee how his words could be taken; especially in a modern world (no reflection upon his statements there)

@Indy74 People wanna play pyscholigists on the internet & I actually feel sorry for them, as something must be lacking in their own lives. People tend to project their own struggles onto others and perhaps this is what happened. Can't say, as I'm not licensed in that department.😉

@MoonlightLullaby I've shared my opinion with you of who gets to call someone a victim; themselves (in this context). I'm happy my words matched your thought, and more, don't let anyone call you a victim. Once, it is unjust and not true, and further, it's not for someone else to yield those words like a weapon. It reflects more upon their character than yours.
