Getting old has its drawbacks

I was looking at toys online that I remember from when I was a kid. I remembered the adventures that I had and some of the things I used to play at. It occurred to me that while I could think, and plan, and create scenarios with action figures in the 1960s, I have lost the ability to think that way. Maybe it's the result of having gone through so much child abuse in an alcoholic home; maybe it was having to think like an adult to survive that stuff so young; or maybe as grow and mature we just gradually lose those childhood skills and abilities, then one day sudden realize that we can never recapture in any way even the smallest aspect of that childhood innocence and wonder.
