@calabaciteh misunderstandings happen in every area indeed, but at least woke people try to learn instead of closing their eyes for everything that doesn't fit what they want to be true.

@NerdyPotato That doesn't seem that way. Over the years I've seen wokies failing to learn that:

- Arbitrary identity characteristics don't correlate to status
- Women are as sexual as men, and appreciate sexy imagery as much
- Dehumanizing people, denigrating folks with different preferences as "bigots" when they don't conform to one's rigid worldview and similar bullying tactics are never conducive to increased understanding
- Representation doesn't matter as much as competence or role models
- The world is more complex and nuanced than: This group are the oppressors, these groups are the oppressed

And so on and so forth. So, excuse me while I laugh my ass off at the claim that wokies "try to learn"

@calabaciteh learning doesn't happen overnight. It's a lifelong process and in the meantime we make mistakes for sure. But you make some good points. We're all oppressors in some ways for example. The idea that you can't be ableist if you know a disabled person for example of nonsense. Even disabled people themselves often have internalized ableism towards themselves.
