Many reasons why

Reasons to
I am a low life
I am virtually incompetent at my job
I don't have friends
I don't have a bond with anyone in my family
I can't get promoted at my job
I will never have kids because I can't trust men
I can't love myself
I am awkward and painfully shy
I look disgusting
I can't land a job because I have major interview anxiety
I wouldn't have to hurt this badly
My antidepressants are failing me terribly

Reasons not to
I want to be around to see my niece and God daughter grow up
I want to help care for my parents when they're older
My mom would probably never get over it

I'll go one by one:

Reasons to.
I am a low life (perhaps, but no more than anyone else)
I am virtually incompetent at my job (that's ok...you only have to show up and do ok)
I don't have friends (after age 18, no one does)
I don't have a bond with anyone in my family (you probably will find out later you do)
I can't get promoted at my job (I went 10 years without getting promoted)
I will never have kids because I can't trust men (yeah...you might; if you don't it's fine)
I can't love myself (who can?)
I am awkward and painfully shy (me too...all introverts are)
I look disgusting (I never look in the mirror)
I can't land a job because I have major interview anxiety (you can - everyone has interview anxiety, and they always will)
I wouldn't have to hurt this badly (yeah...I can't touch that one)
My antidepressants are failing me terribly (I think I've been on every single one on the market....some of them help sometimes, but they ALL make me nauseous)

Reasons not to
I want to be around to see my niece and God daughter grow up (fine)
I want to help care for my parents when they're older (this is a monumental task; I'm caring for my wife who has significant issues. You're an amazing person for even wanting to)
My mom would probably never get over it (yeah....I know that feeling, and you can remove the word, probably.)

@originnone No one has friends after age 18? What a strange thing to say.

@originnone I'm sorry for you that your life experience has been such but 99% of the many hundreds of adults i know or have known aged between 22 and 70 have friends , which has added all manner of emotional riches to their lives.

@originnone No , I'm in the 99% (or ok maybe 96% ish) with friends , not the 1 to 4% without, for which I'm very grateful. As for "you'll see", I'm older than you ! 😊
