Are there any benefits to working, as opposed to having a free ride for life?

Working inspires motivation and responsibilities as well as independence. It is important to be able to live and to thrive. Independence fosters this. A free ride? No such thing unless you come from wealth. I have found the only wealthy people I know treat others like servants and the only thing that matters to them is money. People who do not work because they do not have to (not talking about the disabled) are generally lazy, stupid, unmotivated, and helpless. They look to others to take care of them. They sleep in. Or stay up all night and sleep all day. They lead confused lives. They have no purpose and do not seem to care to change their circumstances. Working gives purpose. Without purpose, people feel lost and alone and often develop mental illnesses like depression, self-harm, addictions both drug and sex and alcohol. I wish all people had to work. Even those on social assistance. They find it easier in general to get the money and to spend it quickly and without reason. Some need to be on assistance due to disability or chronic problems. It should, in reality, be a temporary solution.
