Why do you think this person/s vandalized (shot up) the power grid/substations?

The sad thing is the people that held this drag show and most that came to it did not even live here. The person that did it, I’m betting doesn’t live here. Most of us won’t have any power til Thursday. Most of our towns in my area are like ghost towns. Curfew off roads 9pm- 5am.

I think this might be the first of more to come… 😞

Definitely concerning as it was a criminal act. Was this an isolated event, or something that's going to start happening more regularly as an act of domestic terror.
@BizSuitStacy It was a criminal act.. ‘targeted and they knew what they were doing’. In a briefing, the sheriff was asked by a reporter if it was domestic terrorist attack and he said, “I can’t answer that”.

If the past is any indicator of it happening again anywhere here or there, I’d say it will become a way to fight back against anything that happens they don’t like.

Many locals believe , it was retaliation for a drag show at a theater here. I don’t know. All I know is 38,000 people are without power til Thursday. And I’m one of them. :(

@NoGamesTolerated It's hard to assess based on one incident. Retaliation over a drag show? I seriously doubt that. The people opposing the whole drag thing aren't the radical types to blow up stuff.

It hits close to home because I used to live in Raleigh and in Winston-Salem. I love NC. Still have many friends there.
@BizSuitStacy if you listened to the video, you’d see that people thought that. As I said “I don’t know”.

Have you met the Proud Boys from Sanford if I make no mistake?

Again it’s what the locals thought and still do, But I don’t lean one way or the other in any way, either way.
@BizSuitStacy I seriously wonder if it’s enemies among us!!! 😞 but why small town USA? And the powers that be don’t think it’s related to the drag show.
@NoGamesTolerated I know the Sanford area well enough, but not the Proud Boys. Who ever is responsible wanted a lot of innocent people to suffer.
If it was politically motivated, they would likely know it would impact people on both sides of the political spectrum. Even those sharing a similar ideology. That takes some real hatred.
@BizSuitStacy Well whatever it was, somebody had a motive FOR SURE.
@BizSuitStacy and when they were looting and burning down businesses, it hurt peeps on both sides too!
@NoGamesTolerated exactly. They don't care who gets hurt to make their point.
@BizSuitStacy yes, sadly so…

@NoGamesTolerated Thanks for sharing the article. This makes more sense now. The attacks weren't in response to the drag show - they were in response to the protests over the drag show. Now that I would believe. Pretty damn stupid too. If the residents in the area caught the perps, justice would be slow, and extremely painful.
@BizSuitStacy I didn’t get that out of that last article at all!! Did you read the whole thing? Doesn’t sound like you did to me.
@NoGamesTolerated I read it all. Just a theory on my part.
@BizSuitStacy ok well it’s at least one other person’s thought as well… I read that on Facebook. Guess we will know soon.. at least I hope so! 🙂
