Fear of Missing Out

Life is not something you can miss out on, but it can miss out on you. Even though your life is not over there where you want it to be, it won’t be right here either unless you stop imaging elsewhere. Missing out in life isn’t the result of not experiencing some specific part of it, it’s what happens when you’re not present in any of it.

A person who once meant a lot to me taught me this lesson:
Be where you are.

@CookieCrumbs Yes, and funny enough, where you are only becomes a problem when you’re thinking of where you aren’t.
@Reject
I totally agree with you there.

We sometimes find ourselves wanting to be some place else than where we are. That’s how we become frustrated and later on permanently unhappy.

I remember a quote: the grass is always greener where you water it.

@CookieCrumbs Right, and even fake grass needs water too in order to stay green. You have to wash it out. This means you must choose what you water wisely. It can be to maintain something, or to grow something.

Excellent insights , my friend.

Choose what you water - wisely.

Time is a resource that is not unlimited.

@CookieCrumbs I wasted much of my time watering my fake grass. I confused it’s easy and convenient luster for an ideal of living. Back then I didn’t realize that the challenge and responsibility of actual grass was far more rewarding.

Especially if you have a really full bladder😯
