Jesus Knocks At Our Heart's Door
One of the most powerful pictures of God seeking to save the lost, portrays Jesus standing at the door of a human heart and knocking, wanting to be invited in.
It was unlikely that the entire religious crowd at Laodicea would repent, but Jesus was hopeful that at least one, would hear his knock and let him in to receive salvation and eternal life in heaven. If anyone responds and opens that door of salvation, Jesus will enter that heart and give that person a brand new life...a brand new beginning, just as if we had never sinned. But notice one important thing...
There's no doorknob, and for good reason. In order for us to receive his free gift of salvation, we must first open the door of our heart and let him in. He wants us to know that he offers us eternal life and forgiveness of sins by his grace, but it's you that has to open the door and invite him in. That way, he knows he's welcome. He'll not make that decision for us. This is an individual choice. He wants to know that in your heart, you want to know him as your personal Savior.
There's never a question that Jesus loves us and wants to give us a better life and especially eternal life in heaven. He already loves and accepts us, but the real question is, will you open your heart's door and accept his free invitation for salvation?
This is the most important decision you'll make in your whole life, because it determines where your soul spends eternity. Jesus never turns anyone away. Don't believe Satan's lie. It is not God that sends people to hell. He didn't come to die on the cross to save us, just to throw us in hell. People end up in hell for one reason. They allow their sins to continue to condemn them and keep them separated from God, until they ask Jesus to cleanse them of their sins, which he is more than willing to do. He is not willing that any miss heaven, and the good news is, there's not one person in this world, that has to miss heaven. Will you open the door of your heart today, and invite him in, to be your Savior? He's just a prayer away.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20
This means, that all, who come to Jesus, wanting him to forgive their sins and receive forgiveness and eternal life in heaven, He will in no wise, ever turn them away. John 6:37
