A really dumb thing I see keep popping up nowadays is that you get good value per hour of fun for the price of a game
It's ridiculous. If I buy a nice bed then I will sleep in it for the rest of my life. The bed makers do not try to adjust the price or the build quality to make the value per hour to match up with their budget. They deliver a good product and if you enjoy it you get to use it as much as you want to for the price you paid.
Likewise for a game you purchase, if you end up buying a game for 50 bucks and you love it and replay it as much as you want to, that's a good thing. That's how it has always been and it has always worked. Subscriptions are the new-age evil. They're trying to make it normal to take payments out from you for simply existing, for enjoying yourself, for making wise decisions.
