Living in a big city after living in a relatively quiet town all my life

Feels so strange... Its like everyone are so hyper focused on themselves, they rush past each other putting each other in danger every time they go to work. They dont see you as you walk past them. It feels like dissociation on a societal scale.

It makes me understand why people from here seem cold. They never got to learn the complexities of socialising with people outside of your circle. How to be polite for example.

i came from a very small town that had very small ideas. when i came to this huge city, it really opened up my life and my eyes. yet ours is friendly. going to Chicago is a real eye opener because they are not at all friendly

I’m in the opposite situation. City life, to in the mountains small town life. I get what you mean though. Most people are not mindful. They like to stay in their own bubble.

@Harlow True I've seen in movies characters that came from big cities and then hated the small town vibe, feeling as if they're rotting away in some place that doesn't breathe. I guess it goes both ways.

Yes it's too stressful too and people have those defensive walls cause letting people in can be tough
